“The longer I live the more I realize the impact of attitudes on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill… The remarkable thin is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day.”
Chuck Swindoll wrote those powerful words, but every man will have the opportunity to choose his attitude when he faces setbacks in his life. Every man does. After a couple of years in the Big Leagues and a World Series already on his resume, Darrel Chaney was sent back to the minors. His attitude would determine if it was going to be a stepping stone or a stumbling block.
Each of my ministries has been marked by setbacks. They are the defining moments as much or more than the successes. Actually, the successes follow the setbacks and it is attitude that determines if I will succeed.
James 1:2-4 is correct! And challenging. Read it and let is adjust your attitude.
